1.) Lawmakers with reputable careers drawn from the major sectors of the economy to handle the legislative arm of our government.
2.) Lawmakers who do not have to receive salaries from the Federal Government but retain their jobs and pursue their careers while handling the responsibilities of legislation.
3.) Lawmakers who are committed to Country rather than self.
In my opinion;
Reward\satisfaction for a lawmaker should be in the smiles on the faces of the poor\weak who counts on their strength to bring home the dividend of democracy.
