When the poor dies....

A friend of mine posted this comment on facebook which I thought is worthy of discussion.
"About 100 Nigerians died in one day from road accident (60 in Edo, 40 in Anambra), and Nigerians talked about it passively for only one day and moved on to other things. If it were a plane crash, it would be discussed angrily for one month. When name-less and faceless Nigerians perish, it is low news, but when govt officials or business moguls die, it is hot news and there are presidential and gubernatorial visits to the bereaved. When will name-less Nigerians stop dying preventable deaths?"
